Invoice: Infrastructure
Invoice can be operated in different environments depending on the customer setup and operational model.
Deployment Models
Common variants are:
- on-premises operation at the customer site
- hybrid environments with local and external components
- operation in a Swiss cloud
- demo or test environments for evaluation and training
Typical Technical Requirements
For a local installation, the required resources depend on scope, volume, interfaces, and availability expectations. Typical requirements include:
- Windows Server 2022 or newer
- sufficient memory and CPU resources
- separate storage areas for application and data
- technical Windows user with local administration rights
- DNS name for user access
- SMTP access for outgoing e-mail
- mailbox access for invoice intake
- remote access for installation, support, or operation
The exact requirements must be checked per installation.
E-Mail Infrastructure
E-mail components are important for automated invoice intake and notifications:
- incoming mailbox for invoices, for example
invoices@example.ch - credentials for automatic mailbox retrieval
- SMTP access for outgoing notifications
- test or allow-list mode for controlled mail delivery
In productive environments, mailbox access, sender addresses, and notification rules should be documented before go-live.
